With the lovely weather reluctant to leave, we pitched the tents on Saturday night and invited John's teacher colleague Paul and his family and young niece to join us. Actually I think it was Paul and his wife who invited themselves and that is how it should be when we have such a wonderful place to live in and for others to enjoy. Robbie amd Maia were unmaneagebly electric all day Saturday at the prospect of a night's camping! Paul, his wife Ximena, their daughter, little Sisa, and niece, Tamia, squeezed, all of them, into a small mountain tent, while John, Robbie and Maia piled the blankets, duvets, pillows and all things soft, and then themselves into John's tent. Silence was the word until about 5:30 am, when it was of course family Osborne who were on the move. Gorgeous day break, with the sun and its attendant rainbow halo appearing around the sides of Ilalo! Breakfast outside - the only fight being over the choice of cereals. Those cereal manufacturers certainly know how to create their markets! Later in the morning, Ximena went off running and was later found half way up the climb to Cumbaya. Not bad! Paul went out to fetch her and came back home with Mateo, his young nephew who was celebrating his 5th birthday, Pedro, a cousin, and Grannie. Then the kids went into party mode! Ximena had made a chocolate cake; we bought in a couple of huge pizzas; balloons were spread (and burst) in all corners; and the children had a great time.
Robbie and Maia are now, at 5:00 pm, fast asleep!
Sunrise for Maia! Robbie not too keen to let Owlie go!
'Little'Sisa and, in front, Tamia, ready for the day.
Breakfast with Paul
Lunchtime
Robbie enjoying his pizza - he only ever eats the top off it!
Birthday boy, Mateo blew out his candles - or was it the strong, afternoon wind?
