This is the beginning! I guess that, until I get the hang of setting up a blog, this will not be very fluent. Bear with me. The idea is to keep a record alive of what the three of us are up to. Perhaps it will not be too long before the blog is in the hands of Robbie and Maia and then it will really come to life. But let me see if I can post this ........ the text works out, but I cannot upload an image. I will keep working at it!
Well, we've got an image up! But if it takes the time it took to get just this one photo of a sloth on to the blog, I will have to revise the idea that this will be a blog full of pictures! For your interest, this sloth strolled into Tom Larson's Arajuno Jungle Lodge, where we spent Easter with Pippa and Rob and their two children, Billy and Asha. At the time we were all listening in some awe to Charo, Tom's lovely wife, who is an expert in Amazonia jungle culture and ceramics. Charo was showing us some of the wonderful, delicate pots made by her 76 year old mother. Not all of us were listening! Maia had spotted the sloth ambling along a branch and whispered, "Papa! Papa! Look!". Poor Charo, her audience disappeared. This sloth was a first for Arajuno Jungle Lodge. A brown throated, three-toed sloth - harmless and relatively common, although difficult to see, unless you have sharp eyes like Maia.
